Investment Criteria
What do we look for in a Franchise Relationship?

SCP looks to work with community-minded franchisees who want a reliable source of financing and recruiting support. Loans are generally conditional upon the provision of a personal guarantee, good credit history and agreement to provide ongoing financial and community hiring reporting.  In addition, we consider the following:

Quality of the Jobs Being Created

We give a strong preference to franchises that offer their employees the potential for a meaningful career – in terms of starting wages, potential for career advancement, skills development and access to benefit plans.

Good Corporate Citizen

We look to invest in franchises whose values are compatible with our social mission and that have an established track record of being active in the communities in which they operate.

Labour-Intensive Business

There are many great franchises out there that only employ one or two people per franchisee. When SCP facilitates an investment, we need to see that there are a significant number of potential full-time entry-level hiring opportunities for those who face employment barriers.

Growth

SCP looks to arrange for investment in franchise chains that are growing and opening new locations. Not only does this help to mitigate the financial risk associated with the investment, it also creates an opportunity to scale.

Good Franchisor/ Franchisee Relationships

We look to facilitate investment in franchises that have demonstrated a commitment to making their franchises successful over the long term.
